Partnerships Committee

Develop, nurture and evaluate national and international NLTAPA business partnerships that benefit member Centers.

The ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds and goals is important, as well as the ability to negotiate and arrive at common goals.

Program Strategy and Evaluation Ad Hoc Committee

Act in an advisory capacity to FHWA and internal Program Stakeholders to identify Program needs, devise Program initiatives, and communicate Program accomplishments. The NLTAPA President serves as chair of this work group.

A good understanding of national transportation policy, transportation legislation, as well as two years of experience in an LTAP will enhance ability to serve effectively on this work group. Good communication skills, including public speaking are also desirable.

Internal Communications Workgroup

Ensure communication and collaboration between the Association and the Centers, and among the Centers.

External Communications Workgroup

Represent Centers to FHWA, our external partners, elected officials, national associations, and the transportation community.

Good knowledge of political protocol and processes, national transportation policy and legislation, good communication skills, ability to prepare and deliver addresses at national meetings, knowledge of current NLTAPA partners and other associations. Knowledge of the role these associations play in providing safe, efficient transportation services.

Training Product Needs & Resource Development Workgroup

Determine LTAP/TTAP training product needs, identify existing training product resources and recommend training product and resource development strategies. Quarterly conference calls, face to face meetings at TRB and National LTAP Conference.

Knowledge of the training needs of local government,as well as the ability to search out and evaluate existing training is important to serving on this work group. Trainers, or those who hire and evaluate trainers will be a good fit for this work group.

Professional Development Workgroup

Provide professional development and assistance to improve center management, performance delivery, and training to improve staff and trainer capacity.

LTAP/TTAP directors, managers and other staff who are responsible for delivering programs and are aware of the unique and varied skills necessary to effectively conduct technology transfer, develop and deliver training, or efficiently and effectively manage such programs are ideal for membership on this work group.

Conference Planning Committee

NLTAPA shall coordinate and co-sponsor an annual summer conference for purposes of enhancing communications among Centers and stakeholders, developing Center staff competencies, and reporting on matters of interest to NLTAPA members. The annual conference shall be co-sponsored by an NLTAPA Region. The host region shall be selected by the NLTAPA Executive Committee on a rotating basis established by the Executive Committee. The NLTAPA Executive Committee shall have responsibility for ensuring that the conference program meets the needs of the national membership. Conference planning committee membership will be determined by the Executive Committee and shall include NLTAPA ex-officio members.
