2008 Annual Conference
Program & Proceedings
The 2008 National LTAP/TTAP Conference was held at the Beaver Run Resort in breathtaking Breckenridge, Colorado from July 14-17. The conference was organized by Region 8 which at the time of the conference included the Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming LTAP Centers and NLTAPA.
This region provided western hospitality along with an outstanding program filled with training modules specifically requested by the community including a Retroreflectivity train the trainer workshop, communication tracks, several sessions focused on safety and other great professional development sessions. The conference schedule also gave ample opportunity for time to gather together to exchange ideas with experienced LTAPers, and time to enjoy the spectacular Rocky Mountains.

The Clearinghouse worked with the Clearinghouse Steering Committee and the NLTAPA Professional Development Workgroup to revamp this session to better meet the needs of new staff. The Professional Development Roundtables provided both newcomers to LTAP/TTAP as well as those wanting a refresher the opportunity to learn from Center veterans and each other about LTAP/TTAP in a series of facilitated discussions. Over 30 people participated in the sessions that focused on various important issues, including occupational issues, hot topics and NLTAPA.
This year's annual banquet had a very special venue with panoramic views of the Continental Divide and huge picture windows that displayed all the glory of the Upper Blue Valley. Participants gathered for music and dancing and enjoyed a special dinner together – two miles high. Even a threatening storm did not dampen the LTAP/TTAP spirits!
