Other Business:
The US Congress is in the middle of the highway bill reauthorization discussion. We have been asked to provide information on the LTAP/TTAP effort to various Congressional committee members. If you are contacted by or if you contact members of your state legislature or the US Congress and provide information on LTAP or TTAP efforts, then please let Dan Cady or Ken Skorseth know about the contact so it can be tracked and enhanced upon if possible. We are not lobbying in anyway but we will provide as much information as requested to congressional staff and educate them on the work done by LTAP/TTAP.
The minutes of the July EC and Business Meeting have been submitted and will be on the NLTAPA Website in the near future.
The EC meets in Washington D.C. at the ARTBA Offices in September with FHWA to discuss, among other things, LTAP/TTAP role in training Local Public Agencies in the oversight of federal aid projects, asset management training products and opportunities, reauthorization and highway safety programs & training.
It's never too early to prepare to attend the NLTAPA Business Meeting at TRB in Washington D.C., January 10, 2010 (http://www.trb.org/AnnualMeeting/Program.asp). Look for the agenda for the NLTAPA Business Meeting at TRB to be posted on the NLTAPA website on or before December 1st.
